General Counsel - Kansas:  Privately held entrepreneurial organization seeks a General Counsel to lead the legal department and act as a trusted legal advisor to the leadership team.  The company has holdings in several different industries, including specialty foods, real estate, liquor, restaurants/retail, and publishing, and this position is fully responsible for all legal aspects of the portfolio.  Candidates should possess 15+ years legal experience with a mixed background in transactions, commercial contracts, real estate leasing, financing, litigation or litigation management, employment law/human resources matters, and intellectual property/licensing/trademarks.  Experience supervising attorneys and managing outside counsel is required.  A diverse background in different industries, or law firm/in-house, public/private employers is a plus.  This is an opportunity to play a larger role in a smaller corporate setting and to help grow a world-class organization.
